Son de San Diego plays music from the southern region of Veracruz State in Mexico known as Son Jarocho. They use traditional string instruments (jarana, guitarra de son, and tamira). The best known song from this tradition is "La Bamba." Director Eduardo Garcia teaches in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at California State University San Marcos.
