Letter from the Director
Dear Sahm Foundation,
Thank you so much for your support of the Carlsbad Music Festival’s 11th annual Festival on September 19-21, 2014. With your help, we were able to present our most ambitious Festival to date that was both artistically cutting-edge and community-oriented.
Highlights from the 2014 Festival included:
- Pulitzer Prize winner David Lang the featured Composer-in-Residence including 3 US premieres
- Featured performers included Dawn of Midi, Wu Man, Steven Schick, Art of Elan and Sacra/Profana
- World premiere of composer Matt McBane’s “On and On and” for chorus
- Total of 33 artists performed 64 concerts
- 58 FREE concerts in community spaces
- 3000 people attended
- Rave reviews in the press
Funds from your grant went towards Festival Artist fees enabling us to put together this remarkable line-up of musicians.
Below is more information about the Festival and how your funds were used.
Thank you so much,
Matt McBane
